My name is Tarah Hill and I’m a 4th year BFA student at Augustana University with an emphasis in graphic design. My passion for graphic design started on a Gateway desktop, crafting fan sites for favorite bands on MSN Groups. A free trial of Paint Shop Pro 7 sparked my interest in design, which is best described as a very dated mix of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. The emergence of Myspace introduced me to HTML, prompting me to design layouts for me and my friends. Discovering Adobe Photoshop as a teenager solidified my aspiration to become a graphic designer, a term unfamiliar to me at the time.
I’m passionate about brand identity and UX/UI design. The thought of working with future clients on successful campaigns excites me. I also enjoy visual storytelling through the use of typography and infographics. I believe that the power of good design is capable of evoking emotions, conveying information, and sparking fresh ideas. I love to explore color, space, line and shape by incorporating these design elements into my work. The constant shift of design trends pushes me to stay updated and inspired, and inspiration strikes often whether I'm on social media, driving, or shopping. My journey to pursue my dream as a designer has been different, but through my experiences, I've gained a unique perspective. I believe these experiences will contribute to my success as a designer.
